Packing my things for my travels isn’t always easy because i can never decide which clothes i want to take with me.
But there are some things that i’m always packing first:
Passport
Of course, otherwise the holiday ends at the airport
Creditcard & Cash
I love the creditcard because you don’t need to carry around that much cash, but i always take some with me so i can buy a bottle of water and things like that. It also depends on the country.
Camera
Good pictures are very important for me, for that reason i’m taking my Canon EOS600D with me most of the time. Sometimes i’m too lazy to bring along that camera, but at least my underwater camera Olympus is always with me.
Universal Adapter
In most of the countries you need an adapter to get power. Be careful: the us only has 110v, compared to europe with 220v. I nearly burned my hairdryer once….
Tablet, Netbook
I’m always taking something with me where i can copy my pictures on. If someone steals my camera at least the pictures won’t be lost. For my netbook i’m using a card reader and for my tablet an usb2go.
Medication
I don’t want to spend my time at the doctor or the pharmacy explaining them in a different language what i want and what i need, so i’m always bringing along some medication products.
My clever book
I’m doing some research before going on holiday to find the best places to visit. Those places, pictures and maps, i’m collecting in a document which i’m bringing along.
Copies
Passport, driving license, health card, bookings (hotel and flight) – i have everything in copy, so even if something gets lost or stolen, i’m not lost.
Book
For boring times at the airport or in the plane i’m bringing along a book and earphones. I don’t have an ereader, but i think for holidays at the beach it would be perfect.
Luggage scale
Most of my holidays the weight of my bags is at the limit of what’s allowed – with my luggage scale i can always find out how many things i can buy 😀
