About my travel blog Smilesfromabroad
Since 2016 I have been running this travel blog (initially under a different name) with a lot of passion and attention to detail. It all started with a report on my trip to Australia, completely privately for friends and family. After a lot of encouragement and a lot of “Keep writing, I really enjoy reading your posts,” I decided to continue running the blog and report on my travels. It has now become a very involved hobby alongside my full-time job, but I enjoy every second of telling my readers about my travels.
I’ve always had a couple of blog post that have been written in english, but my main language used to be german. Just recently i’ve been translating a lot of my german blog posts into english, to also help the english speaking community plan their travels.

Since the creation of my blog, my main goal has been and is to give readers tips for their travels and show them how many beautiful places this world offers, how much you can broaden your horizons through travel and how easy it is to create an individual trip. I like to recommend tourist regions, hotels, activities or other tourism offers to readers. Authentic reporting and honest reports are important to me.

How do readers come aware of my blog?
Many of my readers find to my site directly via search engines, i’m always writing SEO optimized articles. They’re already interested in that destination, which makes targeted link placement possible.
A very wide-reaching channel for my blog is the Pinterest platform. With 100,000 views (as of 2025) and 1,900 active followers, a large number of readers can be reached on this platform.
In addition to Pinterest, I actively run a Facebook channel, through which many of my regular readers come to my posts, and Instagram (> 5000 followers), where I have seen a very strong increase in the number of followers of my stories.

What i expect from a collaboration
Authentic reporting. I only work with companies whose products/destinations really appeal to me and fit the blog.
Labeling requirement. I adhere to the legal labeling requirement for advertising and do not conceal anything here. In addition, cooperation links are marked with the attribute rel=”sponsored”.

It’s easier to give criticism than positive feedback. You probably know this too, but I’m always very happy when I get direct feedback from my readers.
