Tre Cime is one of the places in Europe getting a lot of attention lately and I can understand why. Located in the Dolomites, it’s a picturesque place.
Getting to the Tre Cime, Dolomites
The famous rocks are located in the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. The easiest way to explore the famous landmarks is by car. There’s a street up to a parking lot next to the Tre Cime, you do have to pay some fee (around 20 Euros) to get up there. From the parking lot you can’t really see the rocks because they’re too close to you, so you will have to walk for a bit to get a nice view on them. There’s a viewing point not far from the parking lot, but I wanted to get the full experience, so we decided to hike around the Tre Cime. Make sure to bring good shoes, even if you’re not about to walk around them.
Hiking around the Tre Cime
Walking around the Tre Cime is a breathtaking experience. It takes around 3-4 hours, 12km and around 600 meter descent. In total with all our pictures and a short stop for some food at one of the cute alpine huts it took us around 4 to 5 hours. To be honest, we were taking a lot of pictures. The Zinnenhütte is worth walking up to, there’s an amazing view on 2 small lakes from there. If you like hiking, there are so many hiking routes all over this area, you’ll be amazed by the beautiful nature and you can even go for some climbing.
Tip: Sometimes the weather is changing in just a second, so it can start raining anytime. Make sure to bring a raincoat. There are a few restaurants/mountain huts, but make sure to bring water with you.
